Friends of the Yampa Website

Friends of the Yampa, (FOTY), is a non-profit in Steamboat Springs, Colorado that works to protect and enhance the environmental and recreational integrity of the Yampa River and its tributaries through education, stewardship, partnerships, and advocacy. They are a pillar in our community spearheading projects and partnerships that greatly benefit the lifeblood of our town, the mighty Yampa River.

Ellbo Design Co. had the opportunity to work with FOTY to give their website a much needed facelift. The old website was lacking brand cohesion, structure and organizaton, and needed major improvements to the user experience. Their website houses important resources, information on community events and programs, and instructions on how to support this incredible organization, among many other things. Ellbo assisted in restructuring and organizing the entire sitemap, paring down and reorganizing all the content, and greatly increasing the visual appeal of the site by introducing a new color palette and identity, unique to the FOTY brand.

A major highlight of the project was the creation of the Know Before You Go dashboard, an invaluable resource for all recreational river users that provides information on current flows and the translation of those flows, temperatures, put-ins and take-outs, river maps, safety notes and more!
