Fish Creek Falls Interpretive Signage

print design, signage

Ellbo Design Co. was approached by Yampatika, a local non-profit in Steamboat Springs, CO, to help refresh the interpretive and parking lot trail signage for a beloved hike in the heart of the town, Fish Creek Falls. The project consisted of 10 individual interpretive signs, 4 large parking lot signs with rules, regulations, area information and maps, and 4 large signs for the picnic area with trail information, area history, and maps.

The goal of the project was to create a ‘science textbook”-like look, cleaning up and simplifying the old signs and producing something new and refreshing for local and tourist trail-goers alike. The signs assist in learning important information about the surrounding area and local environment while hiking to the 280-foot Fish Creek waterfall.

Ellbo worked hard to make Yampatika’s vision come to life with illustrations, custom iconography, and clean layouts that are easy to read and digest.
